  If you have trouble with auto , change to noauto and see below. It turned out IT had installed some old version of VMWare tools with non-functioning vmhgfs kernel module. Hi, I faced the same problem and I solve it by update VMware workstation 12 to Double click vmware-host and browse to the shared folder:.
